Things to Think About

The title of this blog is a parody of incredibly racist/sexist/discriminatory individuals who like to label themselves as "deep thinkers".
Because that is hilarious.

Friend: Posts video Shit White Girls Say…to Black Girls” is not racist.

Me: “LOL white people crying reverse racism.”

Friend: “I kno rite.”

Person 1: “Anyone can be racist towards anyone else regardless of race.”

Me: “Racism implies power. Black people portrayed in stereotypes every day which affects public image. White person portrayed as ignorant once isn’t going to affect white privilege.”

Person 1: posts dictionary definition of racism. “But I take this dictionary to be 100% correct in every situation disregarding societal implications and context.”

Friend: “No. Stop that. Only white people who have never experienced it say that. Look at society. Look at what you just said.”

Person 1: “You’re not being logical stfu with your emotions. Bye.”

Friend: “…assuming I’m an angry black woman because I disagree. Point proven?”

Person 1: “But you ARE angry and I was at a bar once and I kept getting passed over by the bartender because he was black and I was white and he had power over me waaaaaaaa.”

Every. Single. Time.
There should be an almanac for this.
“A black person was mean to me and that was racism.”

Friend’s response: “I wonder what really sits in the minds of those who think racism is a two way street. Having one experience where someone of another race was a dick to you for you being whatever race you are (or for any other reason) is not racism, that’s just encountering an asshole or two. Being systematically told that you as a person of a certain race for your entire life are inferior is racism. I doubt the day will come in my lifetime where White people understand that encountering an asshole once or twice is not at all comparable to the experiences of POC.”
